We’re a little sad it’s over,
but we’re happy it happened!
We’re a little sad it’s over, but we’re happy it happened! The second edition of
the 5432…MeetUs! conference was a great success and we would like to thank
everyone that made it possible!
First and foremost we would like to thank our sponsors for helping make this edition
of 5432…MeetUs! possible; so here’s a big THANK YOU to our Platinum Sponsors:
2ndQuadrant and IBM; Gold Sponsor: Fujitsu; Silver Sponsors: Subito.it, Dalibo,
EidosMedia, and Seeweb; and Bronze Sponsors: Navionics and OpenSCG. We appreciate
your contributions and attendance!
Speaking of contributions, we had some great keynote and talk topics presented in the
two days of the conference that allowed attendees to explore the world of Open Source
from many different angles. From hearing about how Kanban can be incorporated with
your company’s Open Source culture to learning about the Past, Present, and Future
of PostgreSQL and everything in between, there was something for everyone in attendance.
We would like to extend a big THANK YOU to all of our speakers that took time
out of their busy schedules not only to join us for the conference, but took time
to prepare and share their knowledge with everyone present!

Didn’t get a chance to catch one of the talks? No worries! Check them out now!
The slides of the talks are on the 5432…MeetUs! website in the Schedule
section under the respective talk.
In addition to the enlightening and informational talks there was the very popular
workshop track. Attendees had the opportunity to gain hands on experience using
programs, platforms and languages with innovative professionals – there was something
for everyone! Lean Kanban expert Dragos Dimitriu took a small dip into the world of
Kanban as it relates to Open Source, helping participants to take an alternative view
to the way they approach their work.
2ndQuadrant’s Gianni Ciolli showed off his love for High Availability with a crash course on Repmgr. 2ndQuadrant Italia’s Marco Nenciarini focused on PostgreSQL in his workshops by reviewing Docker and teaming up with Andrea Vercellini of IBM to set up PostgreSQL on Power. Last but certainly not least was the Raspberry Pi workshop with Rubens Souza of 2ndQuadrant Italia – participants had the opportunity to experiment with Raspberry Pis by learning to set up the PostgreSQL platform on them.
Many professional relationships and friendships were made at the conference during the recruiting sessions, coffee breaks, and aperitivo. It provided participants with a chance to relax between talks and mingle with other attendees.
